In the the game ‘Take It Off,’ each person put a bag over their head and they have to take off one piece of clothing when the leader of the game tells them to, and it doesn’t occur to all of the women to take of the bag; it’s very amusing to watch. One of the highlights of the evening was when the bride gave up her garter for the toss. Seeing all those men as their excitement grew when the garter was being removed by the groom. All of them were reaching and pushing into each other with the sole objective of being the one to take home the brides garter. The funniest part though, is that the winner of the garter toss was a widower in his 70’s that didn’t even want to participate in the toss. As the old man walked off with the garter in hand he was smiling from ear to ear.
The champagne flutes we raised for the wedding toast had the names of the wedding couple and date of the wedding on them and we were given these flutes as extra little gifts. After the toast it was time for the bride and groom to take their place on the dance floor for their first dance together as husband and wife. They made such an elegant couple as they danced across the dance floor. The floor quickly filled up with couples right after the wedding couple finished their first dance. I know I went overboard on the dancing, my feet hurt all night long.
Then it was time for the happy couple to leave the reception and begin their honeymoon, so everyone was yelling good bye and good luck. I found out from one of the other guests that they were going to Hawaii for their honeymoon. Looks like their honeymoon will be just as fabulous as their wedding was. The rest of us partied until we couldn’t party no more.
I received my thank you note for my gift and my presence at the wedding and reception, after only two weeks. She must have sent out her thank you cards as soon as she got back from her honeymoon. By the way, I did find out how she could afford a mikasa wedding and that fantastic cake topper. I’m ordering what I need for my parents anniversary wedding party today.

The décor my daughter and her groom went with had a fairy tale look and feel to it. A horse drawn carriage with a driver in classical attire swept the two of them away from the church after the ceremony was over.

The tables at the reception had silvery sparkles and wonderful flower arrangements, and the bride and groom table sat in front of an arrangement of red and white roses with ivy strung along an arch. Flower and crystals adorned the small jewelry boxes that each lady at the wedding got as a gift. For the men in attendance, a key chain with a frog prince on it was given to them as a wedding favor. The date of the wedding and name of the happy couple were inscribed in the boxes. The girls seemed to really like the thank you gift that my daughter picked out. The jewelry box she got them looked very nice, but it was in fact a jewelry box and I had one like it myself for a long time. The men each got a commemorative inscription in a small plaque and a set of wine related gifts. Those were great, one of a kind thank you gifts, in my opinion.

We offered to pay for the wedding, since we are the brides parents, but they both insisted they could do it themselves.

It truly looked like something out of a fairytale, just like the ball in the Cinderella story. The guys got so rowdy trying to catch the garter, during the garter toss, that they had me laughing to no end. My baby girl’s fantasies were fulfilled on a glorious wedding day,with all of her close friends and family members to share it with. Now they are on a honeymoon she’s always dreamed of. I can hardly wait for them to get back and tell me all about the fantastic sights they saw.
